Silver Clay Workshop - MakeMe a silver charm bracelet, pendant necklace and earrings
Experience required: None
Tutor: Melissa Merchant
Course length: 3.5 - 4 hours
Cost: £75.00Learn to work with silver clay to design and create your own solid silver charms and make your own gorgeous bespoke jewellery.
Silver clay is made up of minute particles of pure silver mixed with a non-toxic organic binder, which bind the particles together in a substance which can be manipulated just like clay - you can roll it, flatten it, cut it, mould it and add textures. Once it has been dried, it is fired with a simple gas torch which turns it into pure silver (it can even be hallmarked!). We will teach you the essential skills to create, dry, fire and polish your own silver clay pieces and even how to inscribe personal messages on them if you wish.
During this workshop you will design and create a gorgeous silver charm bracelet, pendant necklace and earrings. Typically you will make 1 pendant, 6 charms for your bracelet and a pair of earrings. Sterling chain, a chain necklace and ear wires are provided. We can also provide additional beads and other elements to embellish your finished pieces. You can take home your creations in an organza gift bag.
All materials and equipment (including silver clay, specialist tools, chain, jewellery findings and beads) are included.
* this workshop is perfect for hen parties. Each hen can make a pendant necklace and charm bracelet for themselves and a special charm inscribed with a personal message for the bride. It would also be a lovely workshop to make special gifts.
